BRIEF DESCRIPTION

           Myanma Ceramic Industries (MCI) is one of the six state owned Myanmar Industries under the Ministry of Industry (1) engaged in the production of cement, bricks, concrete products, asbestos cement roofing and ceiling sheets, marble, sheet glass, granite, glass, bottles and ceramic products.

          It was previously named as Ceramic Industries Corporation. In 1989, the name of the corporation was changed to Myanma Ceramic Industries to be in line with New Market Oriented System adopted in the country in late 1988.

ORGANIZATION

           Managing Director is the head of the organization holding all the responsibilities. The Board of Management has the supreme authority and executes the policies laid down by the Ministry.

The following are the main business departments each under its own General Manager.

• Production Department
• Marketing Department
• Finance Department
• Administration Department

          

Under MCI, there are altogether 19 factories at present. Those factories consist of Cement Factories, Brick Factories, Refractory Brick Plant, Asbestos Cement Plant, Concrete Products Plant, Ceramic Factories, Marble Factory, Granite Factory, Bottle Glass and Sheet Glass Factories.
