NAY PYI TAW, 24 Sep - Myitmakha Panlaung Bridge in Myittha Township was inaugurated on 21 September in the presence of Secretariat Member of Union Solidarity and Development Association Minister for Industry-1 U Aung Thaung.

Industry-1 Minister inspects project site of glass factory
 
NAY PYI TAW, 25 June - Secretariat member of the Union Solidarity and Development Association Minister for Industry-1 U Aung Thaung met with USDA secretaries and executives of eight districts in Mandalay Division at Mandalay Division USDA on 23 June. Next, Chairman of Myanmar Industrial Development Committee U Aung Thaung visited Mandalay Taw Win Industry Co Ltd in Mandalay Industrial Zone. He looked into production of Steel Ball at the Foundry Department, water pump, 3 Kilowatt dynamo, machine parts of physic-nut grinding machines, automobile spare parts, machine parts of farming equipment, oil purifier, pumps, physic- nut grinding machines, water cooling pump, pane box at the Machine Shop Department, lathes and machinery at the Machine Shop 2 there. He called for mass production of import-substitute goods thought advanced technologies and skill. On 24 June, Minister U Aung Thaung together with managing directors of various industries looked into cement factory in Kyaukse industrial zone where the managing director of the Myanmar Ceramics Industries reported on measures to be taken for higher output of the factory to the minister. The minister inspected control system in the Computer Control Room and called for meeting the production target. Next, he proceeded to project site of glass factory in the Kyaukse industrial zone and inspected allocation of land, estimated supply of sand and raw materials. The project will be implemented soon. Myanmar Ceramics Industries and China CAMC Engineering Co ltd of People's Republic of China are jointly implementing the project. The estimated quantity of the sand deposit is 4.8 million tons which can be used for about 154 years. Upon completion, transparent glass, color glass, bullet-proof glass, windscreen, mirror and so on can be produced and the production capacity of the factory is 117 tons per day and 41700 tons per year.
