- The final matches of National Basketball Championship 2008 were held at Aung San Stadium here today.
After the competitions, officials presented the first prize to Ministry of Industry-1 team, the second to Yangon Division team and the third to Sagaing Division team tin the women's U-20 event; the first prize to Dragon (A), the second to Mogok and the third go Golden Light House in the men's U-20 event; the first prize to Ministry of Agficulture and Irrigation, the second to Ministry of Industry-1 and the third to Ministry of Home Affairs in the women's open event; and the first prize to Ministry of Indusry-1, the second to FOX and the third to Ministry of A& I in the men's open event.
Vice-President U Khin Myint of Myanmar Basketball Federation presented cash awards to two international umpires of FIBA (Asia).
The vice-president awarded best player Sai Thiha Soe in the men's U-20 and best player Maung Nge in the men's U-20 open. Chairperson of Central Working Committee Daw Aye Aye of Myanmar Women's Sports Federation presented awards to best player May Hninsi Lwin in the women's U-20 and best player Ma Thet Hsu Htway in the women's U-20 open.
On behalf of the Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee the Minister for Sports, General Secretary of Myanmar Olympic Committee Director General of Sport and Physical Education Department U Thaung Htaik presented championship shield, trophies and duplicated trophies to first prize winning Ministry of Industry-1 in the Women's Open U-20, Dragon (A) in the Men's U-20, Ministry of A&I in the Women's Open U-20 and Ministry of Indusry-1 in the Men's Open U-20 Basketball Tournament.
