Industry -1 Ministry offers Waso robes to monasteries in Yangon, Dagon Myothit (East)
 
 
NAY PYI TAW, 7 July - Under the patronage of the Secretariat Member of Union Solidarity and Development Association Minister for Industry -1 U Aung Thaung and wife Daw Khin Khin Yi, the employees of the ministry conducted the 11th Waso robe offering ceremony at Kyaukkon Kyaunggyi Monastery in Yankin Township yesterday. At the Waso robe offering cereminy, the congregation received the Five Precepts from Member of Township Sangha Nayaka Committee Presiding Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vissarada and members of the Sangha recited parittas. Next, the minister and wife donated Waso robes and provisions to the Sayadaw, and the officials and their wives and donors offered Waso robes and provisions to members of the Sangha and monks of Kyaukkon Kyaunggyi monastery in Yankin Township yesterday. After the ceremony, they shared merits gained. Similarly, the staff family of the ministry held the 5th Waso robe offering ceremony at Tipitaka Maha Gandawin Nikal Monastery in Dagon Myothit (East) Township yesterday afternoon. The congregation took the Five Precepts from Presiding Sayadaw Tipitakadharadhamma Bandagarika Yesagyo Sayadaw Bhaddanta Varamindabhivamsa and members of the Sangha recited parittas. Next, the minister and wife presented Waso robes and provisions to the Sayadaw and members of the Sangha. After the ceremony, they shared merits gained. The congregation also offered a day's meal and Waso robes to a total of 137 monks - 83 of Kyaukkon Kyaunggyi Monastery in Yankin Township and 54 of Tipitaka Maha Gandawin Nikal Monastery in Dagon Myothi (East).
