| Industry-1 Ministry organizes special sales (General job opportunities ,sharing pharm- aceutical technology and supplying necessary pharmaceuticals main aims of factory) |

Prime Minister General Thein Sein yesterday morning attended the opening of Myanmar Pharmaceutical Factory (Inyaung) in Kyaukse Industrial Region , Kyaukse , Mandalay Division.
Accompanied by member of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Ye Myint of the Ministry Defence ,the ministers, the deputy ministers, the Director General of The Government Office and heads of departments, Prime Minister General Thein Sein left Nay Pyi Taw Airport and arrived at Mandalay International Airport yesterday.
They were welcomed there by member of the SPDC Lt-Gen Tin Aye of the Ministry of Defence , Chairman of Mandalay Division PDC Commander of Central Command Brig-Gen Tin Ngwe, Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation MajGen Htay Oo, Minister for Industry-1 U Aung Thaung , Chairman of Mandalay City Development Committee Mayor Brig-Gen Phone Zaw Han and senior military officers. The Prime Minister and party arrived at Myanmar Pharmaceutical Factory (Inyaung) of Myanmar Pharmaceutical Industries under the Ministry of Industry-1 in Kyaukse by car at 10.15 am.
Next, Prime Minister General Thein Sein attended the opening of Myanmar Pharmaceutical Factory (Inyaung). Also present on the occasion were members of the SPDC Lt-Gen Ye Myint and Lt-Gen Tin Aye of the Ministry of Defence, Chairman of Mandalay Division PDC Commander of Central Command Brig-Gen Tin Ngwe, the ministers, the deputy ministers, the Director-General of the Government Office, heads of departments, staff of the factory, social organizations, local people and others.
First, Managing Director of Myanma Pharmaceutical Industries U Than Shwe, Chairman of Kyaukse District PDC U Khin Maung Myint and Factory Manager of Myanmar Pharmaceutical Factory (Inyaung) U Ko Ko Lwin formally opened the factory.
Next, Prime Minister General Thein Sein unveiled the signboard of the factory , which brought the first session of the ceremony followed at the pandal in the compound of the factory and Commander of Central Command Brig-Gen Tin Ngwe made a speech.
He said that it is learnt that the quality of medicines to be produced by the factory that was opened today to meet the demand of medicines will be high as modern technology is being applied in the production process. He added that the opening of the factory will not only enable people of central and upper Myanmar to have easy access to medicines and medical equipment but create job opportunities for people in the region and contribute to development of health care services. Hence, local people are to help maintain the factory for its perpetual existence, he noted.
Minister U Aung Thaung said that the factory was built with the aim of enabling the people to purchase medicines and medical equipment at reasonable prices, of reducing imported medicines, of creating job opportunity, of disseminating medicine production techniques and of bringing about regional development. He said that disposable syringes produceded by MPE (Inyaung) and those produced by Union of Myanmar Economic Holdings Ltd will be able to satisfy about 60 million of the demand of disposable syringes in the nation. And intravenous fluids to be produced by MPE (Inyaung), PyinOoLwin MPF, MPF (Yangon) and MPF (Yangon) Extension will be able to meet 20 million ampoules of the demand of intravenous fluids, he asserted. It is required to satisfy 42 per cent of the demand in the nation , he said.

Likewise, MPF (Inyaung), MPF (Yangon) and MPF (Yangon) Extension as well as PyinOoLwin MPF will also produce more injection, and they will be able to produce about 142 million ampoules of injection, meeting 70 per cent of the demand in the nation, he disclosed. The government has laid down and is implementing the national policy which calls for enabling the entire people to enjoy longevity and ensuring development of economic, social and health sectors and producing more productive forces. In that regard , it has produced medicines of high quality in line with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). The medicines produced by MPF (Yangon) have been ranked the best ones in South East Asia , and the remaining and newly built factories are producing medicines according to the formula of MPF (Yangon), he added.
In the past, the entire national people had to rely only on MPF(Yangon), and now it is impossible to rely only in it with an increase in population . Hence, MPF (Yangon) Extension , PyinOoLwin MPF, MPF (Inyaung) and Spirulina Factory have to be built. At present, there are altogether 162 factories under the Ministry of Industry-1, and 60 more factories were built from 1988 to 2007, he said. At present, altogether 14 factories are under implementation , and plans are under way to build 6 more factories, he disclosed. The already opened factories are producing a variety of medicines, consumer goods and construction materials, he concluded.

Afterwards, U Min Min of Minsu Village, on behalf of local people, expressed thanks for the emergence of MPF (Inyaung). Managing Director U Than Shwe donated K 100,000 each to Kyaukse Township USDA, Kyaukse District General Hospital , Kyaukse Town-ship MCWA, Kyaukse Township Women's Affairs Organization and Minsu BEHS of Kyaukse Township through officials. The Prime Minister inspected production process of disposable syringe at the discussion room, quality control of intravenous ampoules at the plastic bottle blow moulding and packaging tasks. Minister U Aung Thaung and officials conducted the Prime Minister round the factory . The factory is located neat Inyaung Village of Kyaukse Township. The factory will manufacture 30 million disposable syringes, 2.5 million ampoules of intravenous fluids and 50 million injection ampoules. The pharmaceutical factory was built with the aims of fulfilling the disposable syringes, ampoules of injection and intravenous fluids demand of the State, easily distributing medicines and medical equipment to central and upper regions of Myanmar, creating job opportunities for local people , sharing pharmaceutical production technology to the local people, reducing health treatment burden of the people and supplying neccessary pharmaceuticals of the region. |
